IIDA hosts a series of webinars to help chapter leaders, communications committees, and interior design advocates build relationships with policy makers, activate their members, and more. IIDA & ASID Joint Advocacy Webinar Series 2019 IIDA and ASID, in partnership with Agora Communications, is co-hosting six advocacy webinars in 2019 to inform and educate the interior design community on best practices for advocacy. All six are free and open to the public and will be presented live every other month starting in February 2019. Advocates will learn the basics of advocacy, how to make friends with legislators, and how to build a successful advocacy program. Use Your Voice: Interior Design Advocacy 101 This webinar is ideal for those interested in honing their volunteer skills in advocacy. Those who are engaged in advocacy such as CIDQ leaders, educators, and state board of interior design members will also find it helpful. Since its inception in 2005, the program has supplied grant funding to 32 Chapters to host educational events, develop tools to make Members better advocates for the profession, and provide opportunities to supplement costs for pursuing legislative initiatives. Applying for an Advocacy Grant Each grant application will be available to chapters in October of the previous year in which the grant will be awarded. Lobbyist grant applications will be decided on by the end of the year. Advocacy project grant applications will be accepted on a rolling basis.
